Maria Lim

Maria Lim is Co-Chief of Staff at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in San Francisco. She is responsible for development, coordination, and implementation of the firm’s recruiting and training programs. In addition, she aides in the implementation strategy for new firm initiatives that serve to assist with ongoing portfolio strategy and asset allocation on behalf of high-net-worth families, endowments, foundations, and other non-profit institutions.

Ms. Lim joined the firm in 2018 as an Analyst and was promoted to Associate in 2020, before becoming Co-Chief of Staff in 2023.

Tamar Liptz, CFA

Tamar Liptz is a Vice President at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in San Francisco. She is responsible for developing investment management strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing investment portfolios.

Prior to joining the firm in 2022, Ms. Liptz was a Partner and Equities Analyst for the Oppenheimer Family Office in South Africa. She was responsible for research, investing in equities across Africa, and capital raising. Ms. Liptz started her career as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in Johannesburg.

Ms. Liptz is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Victoria Alvarez-Arango Ragolta

Victoria Alvarez-Arango Ragolta is a Senior Associate at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in New York. She is responsible for developing investment management strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing investment portfolios.

Ms. Alvarez-Arango Ragolta initially joined Hall Capital in 2016 as a member of the firm’s Research Group. As an Associate on the Public Equities team, she was responsible for sourcing and due diligence of equity managers. She left in 2020 to earn her M.B.A at Harvard Business School, during which she interned at J.P. Morgan in the Private Bank as a Senior Associate, served on the HBS Women in Investing club board, and was Co-President of the HBS Latino Student Association.

Kurt Rieke

Kurt Rieke is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and Co-Head of Portfolio Management. He also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.

Mr. Rieke joined the firm as a Vice President in the Portfolio Management group in 2004. He was promoted to Managing Director in 2006, named Director of Portfolio Management for Families in 2013, and is currently the firm’s Co-Head of Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rieke spent four years with Goldman Sachs & Co., most recently as a Vice President in the Private Wealth Management group in San Francisco. Previously, he worked at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in the Insurance Banking group, and at Quick & Reilly in the Retail Sales group.

Zachary Rodd, CFA

Zac Rodd is a Principal in Hall Capital’s Portfolio Management practice in New York. His responsibilities include development and implementation of investment strategy, portfolio reporting, and general client services.

Mr. Rodd joined the firm as an Analyst in the San Francisco office in 2007. He was promoted to Associate and transferred to the firm’s New York office in 2012. He was promoted to Senior Relationship Manager in 2014 and to Vice President in 2018. Mr. Rodd started his career as a Sales Operations Analyst at QuinStreet.

Mr. Rodd is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute and is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Robinson Sawyer

Rob Sawyer is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in New York. He is responsible for developing investment strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing client investment portfolios. Mr. Sawyer also serves on the firm’s Investment Review Committee.

Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Mr. Sawyer was an investor at Paramax Capital Partners, an asset management firm focused on opportunistic investment strategies within financial services. He was responsible for due diligence, valuation, and the deal structuring of potential investments. Previously, Mr. Sawyer was a Managing Director on the Sales and Trading team at ISI Group. The firm provides investment research to institutional investors worldwide. Mr. Sawyer worked in New York and London at ISI Group. Upon moving to London, he focused on European institutional investors and opened their UK subsidiary. ISI Group has since been acquired by Evercore and is now known as Evercore ISI.

Jamey Spencer

Jamey Spencer is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in San Francisco. He is responsible for developing investment strategy and constructing and managing client investment portfolios. Mr. Spencer also serves on the firm’s Investment Review Committee.

Prior to joining the firm in 2021, Mr. Spencer was a Senior Vice President at Jordan Park, where he led the firm’s private investment efforts. Previously, Mr. Spencer was a Managing Director in the Private Client Practice and co-managed the Co-Investments team at Cambridge Associates. He has spent nearly two decades focused on private investments, including previous experience with The Riverside Company, Morgan Creek Capital Management, Fort Point Capital, and Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, and began his career in energy M&A and corporate finance with J.P. Morgan.

Sarah Stein

Sarah Stein is a Managing Partner at Hall Capital Partners LLC. She is also a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.

Ms. Stein joined the firm in 2002 in the Portfolio Management practice. She moved to the Research Group in 2006 where she held several roles including Co-Director of Research and Head of Capital Markets. Her prior experience includes working in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs & Co., the Fisher Family Foundation, and teaching English in Guangzhou, China for Princeton-in-Asia.

Ms. Stein is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

Jennifer Wilcox Thomas

Jenn Wilcox Thomas is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in San Francisco. She is responsible for developing investment strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing client investment portfolios. Ms. Wilcox Thomas also serves on the firm’s Investment Review Committee and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.

Prior to joining the firm in 2015, Ms. Wilcox Thomas was a summer MBA intern at Google. Previously, she was an Associate at Summit Rock Advisors, a New York-based investment management firm. She was responsible for helping craft customized investment solutions for philanthropic families, foundations, and endowments. Ms. Wilcox Thomas started her career as an Analyst in Goldman Sachs’s Public Sector and Infrastructure group in both New York and San Francisco.

Sarah Whitelaw, CFA

Sarah Whitelaw is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in San Francisco. She is responsible for developing investment strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing client investment portfolios. Ms. Whitelaw also serves on the firm’s Investment Review Committee.

Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Ms. Whitelaw was an Investment Representative in the Private Wealth Management group in the San Francisco office of Morgan Stanley. Previously, Ms. Whitelaw worked at Wellington Management Company, where she was responsible for business development and relationship management with West Coast investment consultants to large corporate and public pension plans, endowments, and foundations. Prior to joining Wellington, Ms. Whitelaw started her career with Brown Brothers Harriman & Company in Boston.

Ms. Whitelaw is a member of the CFA Institute and is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
