Founded in 1994, Hall Capital Partners has always been focused on delivering excellence, both to our clients and to the people we are fortunate to have on our team.

1994

Kathryn Hall founds Laurel Management Company LLC (to later become Hall Capital Partners LLC) in San Francisco

HCP makes its first investment in a woman-led firm, an Absolute Return hedge fund

1999

Assets under management (AUM) exceed $5 billion

2002

New York City office opens

2007

Hall Capital hires its 100th employee

Receives first fully discretionary mandate from an institutional client

2010

AUM exceeds $20 billion

2012

HCP obtains a Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor license to enable clients to invest in locally-listed Chinese equities (A Shares) and subsequently hires a Beijing-based subadvisor to manage a portfolio of those stocks

2013

Full Consequence Investing (FCI) initiative is launched to address our clients’ needs in the area of ESG investing

2014

Hall Capital becomes a signatory to the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Investing

2015

Hall Capital reaches 150 employees

2017

A Diversity & Inclusion task force is formed to promote DEI initiatives within and outside our firm

Hall Capital becomes an early signatory to the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ pledge

HCP invests in its first Black-led and owned investment firm, an early stage, impact-focused venture capital firm investing in material science companies

First investment in a dedicated affordable housing fund

2019

Hall Capital celebrates its 25th anniversary

Formation of a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee to expand and formalize our efforts in this area

2020

Teams in both San Francisco and New York temporarily transition to remote work to safely ride out the COVID-19 pandemic

2021

Hall Capital reaches 200 employees
