Alexander Binnie

Alexander L. Binnie is a Vice President at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in San Francisco. He is responsible for developing investment strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing investment portfolios on behalf of high net worth families, endowments, foundations, and other non-profit institutions.

Mr. Binnie initially joined Hall Capital in 2012 as a member of the firm’s research group. As an Associate on the Real Assets desk, he was responsible for sourcing and due diligence of investments across real estate, energy, timber, and other hard assets. During this time at Hall Capital, Mr. Binnie was also a founding member of the firm’s Charitable Committee. He left in 2016 to earn his M.B.A, during which he interned as an internal consultant for the Global Health Strategy division of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle.

John Buoymaster

John Buoymaster is a Managing Director and Co-Chair of Hall Capital Partners LLC. He is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Investment Review Committee, and Audit Committee, in addition to having direct portfolio management and relationship responsibility for a number of the firm’s clients. Mr. Buoymaster is also Chair of Laurel Trust Company, a Nevada chartered private trust company that is wholly owned by Hall Capital Partners LLC.

Mr. Buoymaster joined the firm in 1998 as a Managing Director. Previously, he was a Vice President in the San Francisco office of J.P. Morgan & Co. At J.P. Morgan, Mr. Buoymaster advised individuals and families on investment strategy, portfolio structuring, and generational planning. From 1977 through 1991, Mr. Buoymaster was associated with the San Francisco and Palo Alto law firm of Cooley Godward Castro Huddleson & Tatum and was a partner in that firm from 1984 through 1991. His practice concentrated on estate and tax planning and estate and trust administration, primarily for venture capitalists and founders of emerging companies. He also represented non-profit organizations, including family foundations and non-profit research organizations.

Jeffrey Daems, CFA

Jeff Daems is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in San Francisco. He is responsible for developing investment strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing investment portfolios for institutional and family clients. Mr. Daems also serves on the firm’s Investment Review Committee.

Mr. Daems joined the firm in 2005. Prior to joining Hall Capital Partners, Mr. Daems spent several years working in the environmental consulting industry.

Mr. Daems is a member of the CFA Society San Francisco and the CFA Institute and is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Kathryn Hall

Kathryn Hall is Founder and Co-Chair of Hall Capital Partners LLC, and she is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Review Committee.

Before founding Hall Capital Partners in 1994, Ms. Hall was a General Partner of Laurel Arbitrage Partners, a risk arbitrage investment partnership that she founded in 1989. Prior to that, she was a General Partner of HFS Management Partners (predecessor to Farallon Capital Partners), HFS Partners I, and Hellman & Friedman. Ms. Hall began her career at Morgan Stanley, where she worked in both the risk arbitrage and mergers and acquisitions departments.

Nathan Heyden

Nathan Heyden is a Principal at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in San Francisco. He is responsible for developing investment strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing client investment portfolios. He is also a member of the firm’s Investment Review Committee.

Mr. Heyden joined the firm in 2004 as an Analyst and was promoted to Associate in 2008, Vice President in 2011, and Principal in 2020.

Kristen Josephs

Kristen Josephs is a Principal at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in New York. She is responsible for developing investment management strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing investment portfolios on behalf of high-net-worth families, endowments, foundations, and other non-profit institutions.

Ms. Josephs initially joined Hall Capital in 2011 as an Analyst in the firm’s Portfolio Management practice. She was promoted to Associate in 2013 and left the firm in 2016 to earn her M.B.A. Ms. Josephs rejoined the firm as a Senior Associate in 2018.

Daniella Khadavi

Daniella Khadavi is a Vice President and Co-Chief of Staff at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in New York. She is responsible for development, coordination and implementation of the firm’s recruiting and training programs in addition to the implementation of ongoing portfolio strategy and asset allocation on behalf of high-net-worth families, endowments, foundations, and other non-profit institutions.

Ms. Khadavi initially joined Hall Capital in 2012 as an Analyst in the firm’s Portfolio Management practice. She was promoted to Associate in 2014 and has also served as a Special Projects Associate and PMG Manager within the Portfolio Management Group.

Rachel Kort

Rachel D. Kort is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and Co-Head of Portfolio Management. Based in the firm’s New York office, she is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.

Ms. Kort joined the firm in 2008. Previously, Ms. Kort was at Goldman Sachs in Investment Banking in the Consumer and Retail group, in both London and New York. Ms. Kort began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst with Salomon Smith Barney in New York as part of the Global Financial Institutions group.

Ms. Kort was named one of Institutional Investor’s 2013 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds.

Simon Krinsky, CFA

Simon Krinsky is a Managing Partner at Hall Capital Partners LLC. Based in the firm’s New York office, he serves on the firm’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.

Mr. Krinsky joined the firm in San Francisco in 2002, later transferring to New York. He became a Managing Partner in 2016. Mr. Krinsky began his career in the Equities Division of Goldman Sachs, where he had several roles, including convertibles sales and trading in New York and Private Client Services in San Francisco.

Mr. Krinsky is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Katherine Lavin

Kate Lavin is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and a member of the firm’s Portfolio Management practice in New York. She is responsible for developing investment strategy and constructing, monitoring, and rebalancing client investment portfolios. Ms. Lavin also serves on the firm’s Investment Review Committee.

Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Ms. Lavin was a Vice President in the Private Equity group at Fortress Investment Group, where she focused primarily on transportation and infrastructure investments. Previously, Ms. Lavin was a Senior Analyst in Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley in San Francisco. She started her career as an Analyst in Morgan Stanley’s Public Finance Department in New York.
