Eric Alt is a Managing Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Hall Capital Partners LLC. He is also a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.
Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Alt spent four years as a Managing Director in convertible securities at Piper Jaffray & Co. in San Francisco. Previously, he worked for Robertson Stephens, most recently as a Managing Director in the convertible securities department. While at Piper Jaffray & Co. and Robertson Stephens, Mr. Alt was involved in over 100 convertible new issue and restructuring transactions. Prior to joining Robertson Stephens in 1997, Mr. Alt was a principal in an entrepreneurial venture and also worked at Kluge & Company, a private investment firm, where he focused on venture investments. He started his career in 1989 at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Dallas as a Certified Public Accountant in the firm’s Real Estate Advisory group.
John Buoymaster is a Managing Director and Co-Chair of Hall Capital Partners LLC. He is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Investment Review Committee, and Audit Committee, in addition to having direct portfolio management and relationship responsibility for a number of the firm’s clients. Mr. Buoymaster is also Chair of Laurel Trust Company, a Nevada chartered private trust company that is wholly owned by Hall Capital Partners LLC.
Mr. Buoymaster joined the firm in 1998 as a Managing Director. Previously, he was a Vice President in the San Francisco office of J.P. Morgan & Co. At J.P. Morgan, Mr. Buoymaster advised individuals and families on investment strategy, portfolio structuring, and generational planning. From 1977 through 1991, Mr. Buoymaster was associated with the San Francisco and Palo Alto law firm of Cooley Godward Castro Huddleson & Tatum and was a partner in that firm from 1984 through 1991. His practice concentrated on estate and tax planning and estate and trust administration, primarily for venture capitalists and founders of emerging companies. He also represented non-profit organizations, including family foundations and non-profit research organizations.
Kathryn Hall is Founder and Co-Chair of Hall Capital Partners LLC, and she is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Review Committee.
Before founding Hall Capital Partners in 1994, Ms. Hall was a General Partner of Laurel Arbitrage Partners, a risk arbitrage investment partnership that she founded in 1989. Prior to that, she was a General Partner of HFS Management Partners (predecessor to Farallon Capital Partners), HFS Partners I, and Hellman & Friedman. Ms. Hall began her career at Morgan Stanley, where she worked in both the risk arbitrage and mergers and acquisitions departments.
Rachel D. Kort is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and Co-Head of Portfolio Management. Based in the firm’s New York office, she is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.
Ms. Kort joined the firm in 2008. Previously, Ms. Kort was at Goldman Sachs in Investment Banking in the Consumer and Retail group, in both London and New York. Ms. Kort began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst with Salomon Smith Barney in New York as part of the Global Financial Institutions group.
Ms. Kort was named one of Institutional Investor’s 2013 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds.
Simon Krinsky is a Managing Partner at Hall Capital Partners LLC. Based in the firm’s New York office, he serves on the firm’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.
Mr. Krinsky joined the firm in San Francisco in 2002, later transferring to New York. He became a Managing Partner in 2016. Mr. Krinsky began his career in the Equities Division of Goldman Sachs, where he had several roles, including convertibles sales and trading in New York and Private Client Services in San Francisco.
Mr. Krinsky is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Kurt Rieke is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and Co-Head of Portfolio Management. He also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.
Mr. Rieke joined the firm as a Vice President in the Portfolio Management group in 2004. He was promoted to Managing Director in 2006, named Director of Portfolio Management for Families in 2013, and is currently the firm’s Co-Head of Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rieke spent four years with Goldman Sachs & Co., most recently as a Vice President in the Private Wealth Management group in San Francisco. Previously, he worked at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in the Insurance Banking group, and at Quick & Reilly in the Retail Sales group.
Jessica Reed Saouaf is Co-Chief Investment Officer and a Managing Director of Hall Capital Partners LLC. She is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.
Ms. Reed Saouaf joined the firm in 1999 and has held a number of positions, among them Head of the Private Equity group, where she focused on private equity buyout/growth and venture capital investments; Head of the Public Equity group, where she focused on public equity and equity hedge fund investments; Head of Distressed, where she focused on distressed investment strategies in the private and public markets; Research Associate; and Research Analyst. Ms. Reed Saouaf took a sabbatical to earn her M.B.A. at which time she also interned at Buena Vista Fund Management.
Sarah Stein is a Managing Partner at Hall Capital Partners LLC. She is also a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Management Committee, and Investment Review Committee.
Ms. Stein joined the firm in 2002 in the Portfolio Management practice. She moved to the Research Group in 2006 where she held several roles including Co-Director of Research and Head of Capital Markets. Her prior experience includes working in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs & Co., the Fisher Family Foundation, and teaching English in Guangzhou, China for Princeton-in-Asia.
Ms. Stein is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).
